We here in the northern climate of the U.S. (Wisconsin) are tired of winter. Now that it is March, we expect breezy, warmer temperatures and rain instead of snow.  While spring will come on March 20th this year, that doesn’t mean the temperatures will obey.  Therefore, a trip to a warmer climate is a must.

Snow White & Seven Dwarfs

No one does topiaries better than Disney.  This photo depicts Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. One could easily tell which dwarf was which by their “mannerism.” They follow Snow White on her journey.

Tick Tock

Apparently this alligator from Peter Pan doesn’t have an actual name, but is called “Tick Tock” because of the clock inside it. Unbelievable how they got the flowers to grow teeth and the bulging eyes seem to follow you.

Monsters, Inc.

My guess is that these are monsters from the Monsters.Inc. movie.  They are texturally magnificent among the bed of small marigolds.  Seems that if you touch them, they would giggle.

Lion King

This is thoughtful the way Rafiki holds little Simba up behind his proud parents, King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi.  Families everywhere appreciate the symbolism.

White Heron

This is not foliage, but a real heron who enjoys getting his photo taken in exchange for a few crumbs.  He stood motionless until the cameras were done and then turned to receive his reward.

Looking for spring amongst the dreary last days of February and early March allow us some comfort before the days really get warmer and full of life.  I can already hear the cardinals; the rest of the birds should follow by the end of the month.  We’ve almost made it.
