The process of moving is daunting at best.  One’s home must be listed and sold, another one purchased, and then begins the work of relocating belongings from the old residence to the new.  The job doesn’t end when the truck is empty!

Premiere Home Stagers was called to assist in the process of personalizing a new home.  The buyer’s objective was to satisfy personal tastes as well as update the home for resale in the future.

Before moving in, wood flooring was installed, all walls were painted and the kitchen was updated by painting the cabinets.

We returned to the home after the furniture was delivered and most of the boxes were unpacked.  Our mission was to arrange furniture, accessories and artwork to the best advantage in this new space.

This jumble of furniture in the living room greeted us when we arrived.  We discussed with the homeowner how she wanted to use the space and what items were important to incorporate.  Immediately we knew that the oak armoire pictured here was in the wrong place.

We moved it across the room where it would balance the fireplace and not block the view from the front door.  Accessories were added to the top for additional height.

Previously the great room had been painted a creamy yellow.  The color was nice but did nothing to enhance the fireplace tile. We recommended a muted sage color that would bring out the green in the fireplace surround.

The sofa and area rug are angled to face the corner fireplace — the focal point of the room.  The two accent chairs are nestled in the window alcove.  The chair to the right is the homeowner’s favorite for TV viewing, so we took that into account as we arranged.  Previously  the back of the sofa blocked the view into the seating area.  Now guests are welcomed to sit down and relax.

The homeowner was surprised by the style change in this new space.  Her former home had a more traditional feel and her accessories accentuated that.  Her new home, with its vaulted ceiling and open concept, lends itself to a more casual look. By carefully selecting what accessories and wall art we used, we were able to give the home a contemporary and casual style.
