It makes sense that if you pay someone for advice you would follow their recommendations, doesn’t it?  At Premiere Home Stagers we’re baffled when a client engages our home staging services and then doesn’t follow through on what we suggest.  This was definitely not the case on a recent consultation.

Our clients were motivated to maximize the appeal of their home for an impending move.  They were already implementing our suggestions as we moved room by room through our consultation.

Our goal was to modernize and streamline the overall look of the home.  Our clients knew they needed to depersonalize and decluttering had already been accomplished.  This living room was ready for an overhaul.  We needed a “wow factor” as a potential buyer entered, so we proposed a plan.

Living Room After Staging

The upright piano was moved to a less conspicuous space and two leather recliners were relocated from the rec room.  A loveseat, recliner and velvet chair were removed and stored, as were the artificial trees and family portrait.  The sofa was slipcovered in a neutral fabric.  New pillows add some color and pattern.  The birch branch and metal wall art modernize the space.

The curtains are tied open for a contemporary look.  The room feels more spacious with fewer pieces of furniture.

The only purchase was a new slipcover for the sofa.  Other additions to the room were repurposed from other areas.

Our recommendations included painting two bathrooms and at least one bedroom for a more neutral color pallette.  Our clients went even farther and painted an additional bedroom.

They liked this gray-taupe color so much they plan to use it in their new home.

Our staging consultation includes a room by room report with recommendations to maximize the appeal of each space.  Our clients remarked that they liked following the plan — a to-do list of sorts.

They moved ahead quickly and completely the staging before their listing date.  But they were ready for a surprise showing last week!  This home is move-in ready and looking its best.
