These homeowners carefully thought out architectural details that enhance the style of their home.

Front Entry

Their color scheme is gold and brick red, which ties each room together.  This view from the front door showcases the wrought iron stair railing, the transom window above each door, the white wainscoting, and the unique double office door.

Shelving Unit

The living room is casual. You can view the TV from the dining area. The shelving unit holds the family’s treasured items and photos. The back of the unit is painted in the same gold color as the rest of the walls.

Wall Niche

There are cut-outs both above the door and in the wall to display baskets, greenery, and trophies.

The lower level contains a rec-room with a pool table, a kitchenette, a big-screen TV viewing area and two bedrooms and a bath.  Notice the archway in the doorway. It softens the bedroom area from the play area.

Window Seat

The master bedroom window seat is perfect for the family pets to get some morning sun.  The drawers hold extra linens.

A unique piece is this antique double door that serves as a headboard.  The same color red with gold accents are seen throughout the house.

Master Bath

Even the master bathroom is full of architectural details.  The pillars, transom window above the tub, and step-up tiled tub surround, and the 5-panel door give an old-world look.

The writing above the tub has meaning for the homeowners.

Tub details

This home was designed for how the homeowners live.  They eliminated formal rooms in favor of two family rooms–one upstairs and one downstairs and one eating area off the kitchen. Their furniture is casual and comfortable. The red and gold color scheme flows throughout each room so as not to give more importance to one room over another.
