One never knows from where inspiration will spring!  A young friend of mine created this whimsical art in kindergarten.  I obtained a copy and pondered where to place it in my home.  I love the colors and the quirky, endearing expression on the sun.

This main floor bath seemed tired and dated.  A major remodel was out of the question, but some freshening up with paint and accessories was in order.

Enter the kindergarten art work.  The aqua and green formed the basis of a new color palette for the room.  Sherwin-Williams ‘Reflecting Pool’ (SW 6486) is the new wall color.

Pattern is incorporated in the circular motif of the shower curtain.  The rug has a stylized floral pattern.

New wall art mimics the circles of the shower curtain and maintains a whimsical feel.

A new metallic-framed mirror replaced the octagonal oak version.  Mercury glass accessories reflect light in the windowless room as well.  Even the towels are patterned to add interest to the decor.

The quirky kindergarten picture provided the perfect inspiration to redesign this bathroom.
