Premiere Home Stagers was asked to redesign a client’s house. She had seen our vacant staging work and felt we would be a good match to help her with the myriad of choices to update her home. We start with a consultation, asking her what she likes and doesn’t like about her home. We then discuss a new furniture layout and paint colors, which then leads to choosing some new furnishings.
Our client was interested in new flooring for the foyer, kitchen, and dining area. This luxury vinyl from Armstrong (Alterna) can be grouted to look like tile. Here are two samples of the vinyl; the top sample is not grouted, the lower sample is laid using two different sizes and is grouted in between. It’s more comfortable under your feet than tile and just as durable.
The client also wanted us to choose a new kitchen countertop, tile backsplash, a living room area rug, and a new configuration for the family room. She wanted us to shop for end tables, bar stools, and lamps. One should always choose the more permanent items first.
After making an appointment with a retail designer, we came up with two different scenarios for flooring, countertop and backsplash.
Premiere Home Stagers chooses items we feel would best enhance the features of our client’s house. Either is a good choice. Sample #1 has some gray in the vinyl flooring, which is paired with a dark countertop and a multi-surface backsplash. Sample #2 has some green in the flooring, and a lighter countertop, highlighted with a herringbone pattern backsplash.
Our client liked the Sample #1 flooring and backsplash with the Sample #2 countertop. Still a good choice. We’ll now shop for the furnishings and begin the work.
