Sooner or later we all have to leave our past behind and look forward. The homeowners had lived in one place for 30 years. They were ready for a change; wanted to down-size; wanted to be closer to town. So, how do you pack up all your “stuff?” You don’t. You take only what you deem to be important. There were four piles: one for the dumpster, two for donating, and one for packing.
Then it was time for Premiere Home Stagers to come in and make their home appeal to the next owner.
The owners knew pieces of furniture needed to be removed. They needed help on what to keep and where to position it so their house looked more spacious and inviting. Whenever there are too many things on display, nothing becomes significant.
While there was still some packing up to do (window sill), and hanging the artwork over the mantle, you see there is less furniture in this room than before. In fact, this furniture came from the sunroom and vice versa.
The sunroom is larger and brighter, so it can handle the darker furniture.
We moved some items in the kitchen and dining room, too. The owners received a detail report for the other rooms (bedrooms, basement, bathrooms) so they knew what should stay and how to arrange it. Lots of photos and personal decor would need to be packed away. At least they have a full month before they need to put their house on the market. I am confident these motivated homeowners will do all they can to ensure a quicker sale. They know staged houses sell faster than non-staged houses.
