With lower interest rates and renewed buyer confidence, the 2013 real estate market has seen an upsurge in new construction.  Buyers sometimes opt for a turnkey home — one where the builder has selected the lot and floor plan.  The buyer is then able to make some choices on the finishes of the home.

Premiere Home Stagers worked with these buyers to finalize their selections.  Next came the daunting task of choosing paint colors to coordinate with flooring, cabinetry and furniture.

Visualizing wall color in this unfinished great room takes imagination!  It was at this point that we walked through the home and selected paint colors.  The size and lighting in each space was taken into consideration.  This great room is west-facing so there would be plenty of light to balance a stronger wall color.

We chose a medium warm tan color for this two-story great room (SW 6109 Hopsack).  Its soaring heights could feel cold and stark but the wall color feels enfolding and is balanced by plenty of natural light.

The fireplace stone and carpet harmonizes with the wall color as well.  The homeowners want their space to feel casual.  This color lends itself to evoking that feeling.

Together we selected a gray color for the kitchen and dining area (SW 7046 Anonymous).  With stainless steel appliances and a warm neutral granite countertop, this color sets off the wood tone of the cabinets and flooring.

It is the same intensity of color as the adjacent great room.  The two blend perfectly together for an updated, harmonious color scheme.

These homeowners took some risks in their color choices, but they are very pleased with the finished product.  We were happy to help.
