This dining area was on our to-do list when updating a client’s home.  It desperately needed to be brought into the 21st century.

The room lacked style, the open shelving appeared cluttered, and the crystal chandelier was out of place.   New window treatments were in order.

We think you’ll agree the transformation is striking.  New carpet was installed throughout the house.  Walls were painted a neutral to coordinate with the carpet.  The chandelier was replaced with a sleeker, more casual brushed nickel fixture.

The pinch pleat drapes have been upstaged by patterned window panels.  Privacy is provided by neutral pleated shades.

Custom cabinet doors were built and added to the upper shelving.  The frosted glass hides the contents and gives a contemporary look to the unit.  Chair seats were reupholstered to coordinate with the window panels and wall color.

A few accessories complete the room and add a small pop of color that harmonizes with the adjacent living room.  This spot is now ready for Christmas dinner with guests.

Stay tuned for updates on the rest of the project.
