Since over 97% of the population begins their home search online, it is important to have your listing photos be pristine. Therefore, it is imperative that you dress up the exterior.
However, due to the severe winter we are experiencing in the upper mid-west region of the U.S., completing exterior projects are delayed until the weather is conductive to painting and concrete. That might take another month or so.
So, the question becomes whether an investor should postpone listing the house until the exterior is essentially finished, or will the renovated interior be enough to entice a prospective buyer?
When contemplating the answer, remember two things: 1) People tend to drive-by the listing after viewing it online, but before making an appointment to view it, and; 2) You only get once chance to make a first impression.
