This cozy chenille comforter is great for winter warmth in my master bedroom.  But with daffodils poking up in the front yard it is time to ‘think spring’ (even if the weather isn’t cooperating).  I embarked on a minor transformation of this room that is more in keeping with the warmer days to come.

First to go were the deep red curtain panels.  I replaced them with off-white panels in an open weave.  They feel light and airy.

I added a plant, a sure sign of spring, that gave some needed softness.  The family pictures in the alcove came down and a striped pillow adds a pop of color to the accent chair.

A bright quilted coverlet replaces the deep red comforter.  It is more comfortable for summer sleeping and the colors make everything feel fresher.

A few accessories bring more pops of color and harmony to the new look of the room.  Without painting or moving furniture the feel of the space is now totally different.   I am ready to open the windows and invite the warm weather in as soon as it arrives!
