Change out the light fixtures
Replace the small black & white prints to larger, colorful local artwork
Soften the hardscapes
Use the “less is more” approach when decorating–remove the extra “stuff”
Drum shades replaced the Tiffany-style light fixtures
The colorful local artwork is stunning against the brick
Black napkins replaced the “ho-hum” white ones
Curtain panels at each window opening softened the brick in the dining room (see photo below)
The same curtain panels were added in the bar for continuity:
The floors were sanded and refinished; the bar tables and chairs were replaced; new carpeting is scheduled.
We took down outdated wall hangings in favor of a few quality sayings in the front foyer (“less is more”). People have something funny to read when waiting for their table, which puts them in a good mood!
Now we’re ready for a good meal!
