A newer concept is the duplex-type ranch condos now being built. It’s a nice alternative to high-rise condos. You get your own entrance and two-car garage, plus an unfinished basement that can be completed to meet your needs. You could even plant some flowers in your patch of yard.
Darker finishes on the flooring and cabinetry is a sophisticated look for 2015. However, that means the furniture should be lighter and more colorful.
Living Room
The fireplace is a focal point. Therefore, the sofa should be placed acknowledging that feature without blocking the walk-way to the master bedroom to the right of the patio door.
In great rooms, like this, the dining area and living areas should complement each other. For instance, I wouldn’t put an area rug underneath the dining table because it would compete with the area rug I would place in the living area. The finishes on the accessories should also be complementary.
After the rest of the appliances are installed and the punch list items completed, this condo will be ready for some life via furniture, accessories, artwork, and color.
