Store Room
This condo is located between downtown Madison and the University of Wisconsin. Its location is ideal for those who frequent both places. The current owner used an 8×8 room as storage. However, when selling, it is important to gain as much square footage as possible. Thus, Premiere Home Stagers was called in to stage the storage room as an office.

This same room is transformed into a lovely office space right off the front door, opposite the kitchen. It’s a quiet spot for computer work. The stacked washer/dryer is behind a door panel, so you could wait for the next load while catching up on the mail.

The area rug warms up your feet from the slate tile and the small office light can be used instead of the overhead light to make the room even more cozy.
While I was there, I noticed the way the living room was arranged. Being a home stager, I couldn’t help but to tweak a few things. This arrangement seemed cold and “stand-offish” to me.

All that was needed was to change the rug from “vertical” to “horizontal” and then place the chairs closer to the sofa to make a better conversation group. There was a stacking set of end tables in the hallway, which made a barrier. I moved them to end of the sofa to make the sofa appear larger and more balanced with the chairs.

Now you see the fireplace better–which is the focal point. The room feels cozier, yet more spacious. The next owner might place a TV on the fireplace mantel since it is deep enough.
