“It was the best of times and the worst of times….”

Premiere Home Stagers was asked to stage this vacant house last September, 2015. It had been listed for months without being staged.

The listing expired and a new listing realtor thought it was difficult for people to visualize where to put their furniture with such an open floor plan.

It seemed that last year’s prospective buyers had already moved on to a different house.  A new group of prospective buyers started looking after January, 2016.  The owners accepted an offer in early March, 2016.

The new listing realtor had this to say:

“You did an excellent job. I know if the sellers would have used your services when they originally listed the house, it would have sold right away.   It needed to be staged to sell.”

This next vacant house has been on the market for more than 180 days.  The new listing agent thinks it needs to be staged.

Premiere Home Stagers was asked for a proposal to stage the living room, dining room, kitchen, and master bedroom/bathroom.

The proposal included adding color, texture, and pattern to this all-white interior with an accent wall color, plus furniture, art, and accessories.     The response was,  “The proposal is significantly higher than I am willing to spend….   [W]ith commission splits a likely reality, the price tag is just too high.  I do not doubt that your work would enhance significantly the marketability of the home.”  Premiere Home Stagers’ two-month vacant staging proposal is less than the monthly carrying costs, and definitely less than their first price reduction.

I would have loved the opportunity to partner with the owner and realtor to get this property sold quickly.  Perhaps we can still work something out as I would hate for this lovely property to sit vacant for too much longer during the selling season.
