Premiere Home Stagers does re-designs. What is a re-design? It is making your home more comfortable for YOU. I received a phone call from a person who says she has no talent when it comes to choosing furniture and accessories for her home. She had agreed to host a gathering within a few days and needed help FAST.
She thought I would come and tell her what to purchase and where to put things. However, stagers are used to working with what you have–unless it just won’t work. The homeowner had some nice pieces, they were just in the wrong places, so we got to work.
Family Room
After the pieces are moved to where they are most efficient for the way the family lives, I suggest adding in the accessories to make the room more cozy. In the family room, I recommended one pair of curtain panels–hang one panel on the right window and one on the left. Add another item to the fireplace mantle (i.e., candles, a vase, figurine), plus some colored pillows, and this room is done.
Dining Room
We moved this bookcase underneath the quad-artwork to anchor each piece. The only purchase here is a table centerpiece. I suggested a colored placemat or short table runner, plus three chunky candles.
Living Room
We moved an area rug from another room into the living room and added an additional chair from the basement. The homeowner will add some colorful textured pillows and put away the extra artwork (leaning against the staircase). She also might want to add two drapery panels on either side of the bay window.
I rarely get “after” photos of redesigns because after re-positioning the furniture, all that is left to do is put on the finishing touches. The homeowner was amazed that in just one hour we were able to be more efficient with the available space and add interest. It just “felt right” to her.
