Last spring Premiere Home Stagers was hired to give direction to updating this kitchen.  We determined a step by step plan, recommended contractors and guided our client through the process of making design choices.

The finished product included some new cabinetry on the opposite side of the room, several new appliances, new laminate countertops, tile backsplash and painted cabinets.

The remodel updated the kitchen and gave impetus to other redesign projects in the home.  Our client decided to take a break once the dust had settled.  She is enjoying the choices she made and wants to be thoughtful toward next steps.

Now she is ready to move forward again — this time with some new furniture, window treatments and accessories.  We provided some initial guidance and she went shopping.

We met at a local furniture store this week to finalize choices for a new kitchen dining set.  This table captured her eye because of its clean lines, and perfect size.  It has two self-storing leaves for larger gatherings.

The chair choices were more complex.  Our client narrowed it down to three based on style, comfort and sturdiness.  We sat in each and quickly eliminated the one with the vertical slat — not as comfortable as the other two.

This style was determined to be the best choice.  It is the most comfortable, has extra leg support on three sides for sturdiness and stability, and has the widest seat.

The lines are clean and harmonize well with the table.  We even stopped on our way to the store and picked a chair pad to see how it would look.  That is a decision that can be made later.

Now the set will be ordered in a dark expresso finish.  The wood grain shows through the stain.  The dark set will add drama to the kitchen and harmonize with some wrought iron and the tones in the countertop.

One more step checked off the ‘to-do’ list in completing this project.
